Q. Does Metrologic software support Windows7 ?

A. Windows 7 32-bit is now supported by version XG13. This applies to the software developed by Metrologic Group, and may not include interfaces to measuring equipment that involve software from the original equipment manufacturer of your measuring device

Q. Am I entitled to the latest version of software ?

A. All users that have an active maintenance contract are entitled to the latest version of Metrologic software. Installation of new versions and patches will require a webread licence code to complete the software installation

Q. What is Webread ?

A. Webread is a web based licensing procedure that enables you to automatically download licence codes to enable you to run the latest version of software. Note - the webread service only provides licence codes for the latest version of software, subject to an active maintenance contract - click here for more details.

Q. How do I receive updates ?

A. For major releases, we will issue a DVD. For the latest software patches, these can be downloaded from our Support page

Q. When should I install an update or patch ?

A. It is important that you install an update or a patch as soon as it is released, as these can include important bug fixes both for the software and for operation within the Windows environment

Q. Do you provide support for older versions of software ?

A. We only provide hotline support and updates for the current version of software, subject to an active maintenance contract

Q. What happens if I am not on maintenance ?

A. We will provide limited applications support, but we cannot provide software upgrades, installation files, or fixes for old versions. Of course, users are able to purchase upgrades to the latest version

Q. What is the minimum specification PC that I need to work with Metrologic software ?

A. We recommend a dual core processor at 3GHz or equivalent, 3GB RAM, a graphics card with at least 512MB dedicated RAM (NVIDIA or ATI), DVD drive for software installation, and at least 600MB of hard drive space available
