Alignment
Before starting to reverse engineer the object, the scan must first be aligned to the coordinate system that best suits your design requirements. This is a simple, but very important step, and the ideal alignment tool needs to be straightforward, adaptable, and not too limiting.
VXmodel alignment tool is highly flexible. You can simply constrain your scan using datums and entities, and you will then start your design process on a strong foundation.
Geometric Entities
It is possible to easily create a range of geometrical entities, curves, cross-sections and even NURBS surfaces for characterising free-form surfaces. The highly flexible, user-friendly VXmodel interface lets you quickly segment the mesh into all of the primitive entities required to complete the design in your own CAD software.
Mesh Improvement
VXmodel enables you to improve the 3D scan mesh and make it more suitable to the CAD or 3D printing process.
A range of functional tools enables you to heal the mesh of triangle errors, enhance the smoothness of free-form surfaces, optimise the file size with the smart decimation tool, etc. Simple yet powerful tools, designed to make sure you have the perfect file to start your reverse engineering or 3D printing process.
