Optimised Workflows
Simply load the CAD model, set the inspection start point, and transfer it to the iPad—just three clicks to start inspections.
The CAD twin-based setup and automatic optical recognition allow the system to be used immediately on-site.
Twyn
Inspection Points For Complex Parts
Twyn’s spatial “inspection points” allow you to focus on specific areas that require special attention.
Rather than inspecting the entire object at once, multiple features can be categorised and consolidated. This approach ensures a more precise, intuitive, and efficient inspection process, making it easier to document observations and results. Once verified, inspection points are highlighted with dedicated indicators and visualised in distinct colours, allowing you to easily track the status of each inspected feature.

Additional Features
Tracking Cache
Twyn accelerates tracking initialisation by allowing you to save anchor poses in a tracking cache.
In addition to the initial pose, these anchor poses act as entry points to start tracking. They are easily and automatically generated during the inspection. Once saved, the tracking cache is automatically applied to all new sessions within the same inspection project.
Camera Based Automatic Deviation Detection
Using the tablet’s camera, the vision-based automatic deviation detection supports users during inspections. In AR, deviations are automatically highlighted with different colours, such as when attachment parts are misaligned or drill holes are not in their correct position.
Automation of Inspection Project Setup
New in 2.3: To speed up your quality inspection sessions, the automatic creation of inspection points is highly beneficial.
In addition to manual creation, this feature greatly simplifies project configuration, particularly when numerous elements like bolts or screws need inspection. You can now create inspection points and group them into optimal inspection views, further streamlining your quality control process.
Interactive Zooming and Clipping
The lens tool allows users to easily zoom in on large or complex objects, enabling detailed inspection of small features or hard-to-reach areas. Interactive clipping and other viewing options offer a simple visual comparison between the target and the actual object in AR, ensuring a fast yet thorough inspection.
Best-in-Class CAD Visualisation
New in 2.3: The top-tier CAD rendering makes every detail, including construction lines, clearly visible. Enhanced edge visualisation ensures you never miss a detail during quality inspections.
Inspection Plans
For repetitive inspections or complex routines, Twyn offers valuable support with step-by-step instructions in the form of detailed checklists.
This guarantees consistent procedures, results, and documentation, regardless of the users’ experience level.
"Pause and Resume"
Scheduling quality inspection sessions should be as flexible as possible.
With the new “Pause and Resume” feature, sessions can be paused and resumed exactly where they left off, ensuring no loss of information or impact on previously captured data. This is a key improvement that helps companies plan and carry out quality inspection activities in a way that fully aligns with their organisational needs.
Inspection Viewpoints
Visual indicators use 3D pointers to mark and highlight key points of interest, making inspections of complex assemblies easier by guiding users to critical features. This method ensures consistent results and standardised inspection documentation.
Comprehensive Inspection Data
Twyn enables detailed documentation of quality inspection results. Markups and annotations improve traceability and enhance communication between quality, production, and construction teams.
Additionally, with the camera always ready, Twyn allows for the capture of images of key features, supporting efficient and thorough reporting.
Customisable Digital Reports
Branded and customisable reports offer clear summaries of inspection results. They can be exported in multiple formats (e.g., XLS, CSV, or PDF) and easily shared with quality and production teams, as well as suppliers.
Flexible Import and Export | Wireless and Across Locations
With Twyn Studio, quality managers and inspectors at different Twyn workstations, even remotely, can access a shared database and exchange individual project files.
This eliminates redundancy and duplication. Inspection data can be effortlessly exported from Twyn Studio and imported into Twyn View remotely, ensuring smooth project transfers and consistent procedures across locations.
Additionally, Twyn allows organisations to share inspection results in various formats and supports multiple channels, including cloud, Microsoft Teams, and email.
This enables different stakeholders to share data seamlessly, regardless of their IT infrastructure, providing maximum flexibility and control over content sharing.
CAD Colour Visualisation
Effective CAD visualisation is essential for clear and precise part inspection with AR.
Twyn Studio and View now support CAD colours, offering companies the flexibility to customise and select the best visualisations for their inspection processes and sessions.
Even during on-site inspections, specific colours can be assigned to different parts, with contours displayed in varying colours, widths, and intensities. For example, in an automotive assembly, components from different suppliers can be visualised in distinct colours, making it easier to compare nominal data with the manufactured parts.
Additionally, the use of CAD colours not only helps distinguish objects but also aids in linking and sharing additional part information, such as material specifications.
CAD Model Preparation in Twyn Studio
Complex CAD models can make inspections time-consuming, costly, and challenging, often requiring multiple software platforms.
Twyn simplifies this by allowing users to prepare, simplify, and optimise CAD structures, removing irrelevant details for inspection routines.
This streamlines and accelerates quality inspections, particularly for intricate parts.
Twyn’s CAD data is optimised for mobile devices, requiring minimal setup time, so quality inspectors can immediately focus on their tasks. All procedures are managed directly within Twyn Studio, eliminating the need for additional software.
