HandySCAN 3D
Best for: High-accuracy measurement, inspection and reverse engineering
The HandySCAN 3D family is Creaform’s flagship metrology-grade scanner range, designed for applications where dimensional accuracy, repeatability and portability are the highest priorities. Using blue laser technology, it delivers reliable measurements across complex geometries and performs exceptionally well on challenging surfaces including reflective finishes, dark materials and intricate components.
The HandySCAN range is the preferred choice for reverse engineering, first article inspection, CAD comparison, tooling verification, dimensional analysis and quality control of manufactured parts.
Within the range, the BLACK Series delivers high accuracy, fast acquisition speeds and detailed capture for demanding inspection and reverse engineering applications.
The EVO Series combines metrology-grade accuracy with an integrated touchscreen interface, augmented reality capability, a built-in photo camera and wireless connectivity. Designed to improve usability and efficiency, it enables operators to view scan data directly on the scanner and execute inspection workflows with greater freedom and fewer interruptions.
For significantly larger components, the MAX Series extends portable 3D scanning to large and complex parts. Its large scanning area, extended working distance and integrated photogrammetry enable accurate measurement of components ranging from approximately 1 metre up to 15 metres, depending on the model, making it particularly suited to large castings, heavy equipment, transport, aerospace and other large-scale engineering applications.
GO!SCAN 3D
Best for: Fast geometry capture and full-colour scanning
The Go!SCAN SPARK has been designed for speed rather than ultra-high metrology accuracy. Using structured light technology, it rapidly captures both geometry and full-colour texture, making it ideal for applications where visual detail is just as important as dimensional information.
It excels when scanning larger components, freeform shapes, consumer products, moulded parts, castings, heritage objects and even the human body. Because colour information is captured simultaneously, it is particularly well suited to product design, digital archives, virtual reality, visualisation and rapid concept development.
While highly accurate for most engineering applications, it is not intended to replace the HandySCAN for precision dimensional inspection or reverse engineering requiring the tightest tolerances.
MetraSCAN 3D
Best for: Large-scale inspection and shop-floor quality control
The MetraSCAN 3D is a portable optical CMM scanner developed specifically for production environments. Its dynamic referencing system continuously tracks both the scanner and the component, allowing highly accurate measurements even if either moves during scanning. This removes the need for rigid fixtures and makes it particularly effective on the shop floor.
The MetraSCAN is ideally suited to inspecting large assemblies, fabricated structures, automotive components, aerospace structures, castings, weldments and heavy industrial equipment. It can also be combined with the HandyPROBE optical probing system to create a hybrid inspection solution, enabling both non-contact scanning and tactile measurement within the same workflow.
For manufacturers requiring consistent, repeatable inspection directly within production, the MetraSCAN provides the flexibility of portable metrology with the performance of a traditional coordinate measuring machine.
