October 30, 2024

Peel 3D has launched Peel.OS 2.0, a major update that enhances workflow efficiency by transforming scans directly into usable models, catering to professionals in aftermarket & tuning, MRO & engineering, and product design.

Lévis, Quebec, October 30, 2024 – Supported by Creaform, a division of AMETEK, Peel 3D unveiled Peel.OS 2.0, its latest software iteration for their portable 3D scanners. The new version incorporates Peel.CAD functionalities, creating a seamless scan-to-CAD workflow within one platform.

This integration eliminates the need to export scan data to external software, extending Peel.OS’s capabilities beyond heritage preservation, AR/VR, and healthcare into more technical sectors, such as aftermarket & tuning, MRO & engineering, and product design.

Optimised for the Peel 3 scanner, Peel.OS 2.0 complements Peel 3’s ergonomic design, intuitive touchscreen, and haptic feedback with enhanced software tools that offer precision and reliability for diverse applications.

Key Upgrades in Peel.OS 2.0:

– Unified Workflow: Combines ‘Align’ and ‘Improve’ steps for Peel.CAD users, all within a single software.
– Improved Merge Options: Enables easy deletion of unnecessary scans.
– Express Texture Algorithms: Reduces colour processing time significantly.
– Enhanced Export Capabilities: Allows users to retain only Peel.CAD modifications for a leaner session file.
– Customisable Interface: Offers dockable toolbars and 3D mouse support for improved usability.

With no increase in cost, Peel.OS 2.0 provides added value to users. “By consolidating Peel.CAD into one platform, Peel 3D reinforces its leadership in entry-level 3D scanning solutions,” says Jerome-Alexandre Lavoie, Director of Product Management at Creaform, emphasising, “our technology remains unmatched by competitors.”
