Major Enhancements to Accelerate Production Quality and Efficiency

Measurement Solutions is pleased to share details of the latest Metrologic Group software release, introducing a series of significant enhancements designed to improve production efficiency, quality control, and process optimisation across the manufacturing lifecycle.

This release delivers meaningful innovations across the Metrologic Group software suite, including the launch of Metrolog Copilot, a new AI-powered assistant, and a powerful new Machining Module that directly connects measurement results with machining corrections. Together, these developments help manufacturers reduce scrap, minimise rework, and achieve quality targets faster.

These updates reflect Metrologic Group’s continued commitment to simplifying metrology, strengthening the link between measurement and production, and supporting manufacturers in achieving greater operational excellence. Measurement Solutions actively supports these goals through implementation, training, and ongoing customer support.

New Capabilities

Optimise Production with the New Machining Module

The new Machining Module represents a major step forward in closing the loop between measurement and production.

Designed to optimise machining processes and accelerate time to quality, the module enables manufacturers to use metrology data in near real time to calculate tooling corrections automatically. Deviations are identified immediately, and corrective recommendations are generated so that the very next part is already closer to nominal specification.

By transforming inspection data into actionable machining insights, Metrolog X4 helps manufacturers achieve measurable improvements in quality and productivity.

Key benefits include:

  • Reduced scrap and rework through immediate, data-driven corrections

  • Improved productivity with a faster feedback loop between measurement and machining

  • Enhanced process control and quicker achievement of quality targets

This new module is a significant addition to the Metrologic Group software suite, further strengthening its role as a production-focused metrology platform.

Introducing Metrolog Copilot: AI-Powered Software Assistance

This release also introduces Metrolog Copilot, a new AI-based digital assistant designed to simplify and accelerate everyday use of the Metrologic Group software suite.

Accessible via a standard web browser, Metrolog Copilot provides instant, contextual guidance to users 24/7. The assistant is available to customers with access to the Metrologic Group customer portal and an active maintenance contract, helping teams resolve questions faster and work more efficiently with the software.

Key Software Optimisations

Stronger, More Traceable Data Exchange

Enhanced support for the QIF format in Metrolog X4 now allows users to directly open QIF files containing both work session and CAD data, while preserving QIF identifiers and associated attributes.

Once imported, data can be enriched within Metrolog X4 and re-exported in QIF format with full integrity. This end-to-end continuity supports reliable, standardised data flows, improving traceability, compliance, and decision-making across quality processes.

Greater Flexibility in Controller Integration

Manufacturers increasingly want freedom to choose both their CMM controller and their metrology software. This release introduces new capabilities that support that flexibility, including the ability to:

  • Specify the target server directly within the connection setup wizard

  • View probe deviation in real time during scanning via digital position display

  • Adjust scan speed dynamically along curved scan paths

These enhancements help users achieve optimal compatibility while maintaining control and performance.

Expanded Equipment Compatibility

The latest release also extends compatibility with a wider range of measurement equipment and automation solutions, including:

  • Rotary table positioner support for Pantec controllers

  • Compatibility with Renishaw Equator X systems

  • Automation scenarios for Scanology sensors

These additions provide greater flexibility when configuring measurement systems and enable higher levels of automation within inspection workflows.

Improved Usability and Ergonomics

Numerous interface and usability improvements have been introduced within Metrolog X4 to make measurement tasks more intuitive and to improve overall user experience.
